Who stands behind the work

A legal practice shaped by Roatán, Garífuna identity and real responsibility.

My name is Kelvin S. Martínez Bonilla. I am a Honduran attorney from Punta Gorda, Roatán, and a member of the Garífuna people. I have practiced independently in Honduras since 2023 and communicate in Garífuna, Spanish and English.

My path did not begin in a traditional law office. Work as a DJ, restaurant operator and entrepreneur taught me to listen, solve practical problems and understand what uncertainty costs a person, a family or a business. Law gave that experience structure and responsibility.

My public-interest work includes legal representation of the Garífuna community of Punta Gorda and OPROMEP, together with graduate study in Human Rights and Development. That work has deepened my attention to land, participation, non-discrimination, due process and access to justice.

Honesty before promises

Justice is not a promise of an easy result.

Some matters are slow, difficult or limited by evidence and institutions. My responsibility is to identify the lawful route, explain the obstacles, prepare the work carefully and remain present while the matter moves forward. That responsibility rests on a simple conviction: law should protect human dignity and contribute to the well-being of people without denying anyone a fair hearing because of origin or status.

I carry that responsibility with discipline, humility and faith in God.

Service without spectacle
What guides the work

Principles that matter when a real problem reaches the desk.

These standards guide how a matter is received, evaluated and handled. They are not promises about outcomes.

01

Truth before reassurance

I will not describe a matter as stronger, simpler or faster than the facts allow. Clear limits are part of responsible legal advice.

02

The person before the file

A legal strategy must consider language, context, family, work, property and the practical consequences of every decision.

03

Inclusion with legal discipline

Inclusion means taking every person seriously, respecting difference and applying the law without reducing anyone to origin, status or a label.

04

Presence through difficulty

Effective legal protection can be demanding. I stay direct about deadlines, evidence, institutional limits and the next responsible step.

What contact should clarify

A serious first contact should create direction, not pressure.

Use the form to request booking assistance, follow up on an existing matter, or contact me about professional, institutional, media or community work. Legal advice on a new matter is provided during a paid consultation.

01

Start with the essential facts

Names of the parties, location, type of matter, important dates and the immediate concern. Do not send confidential documents yet.

02

Identify the right next conversation

During the paid consultation, we discuss the relevant facts, identify immediate concerns and consider the next steps. Document review and further work are quoted separately.

03

Confirm the consultation before substantive advice

The initial consultation is US$55 per hour or fraction, verbal and preliminary. Book and pay online to confirm your 60-minute appointment.

04

Define representation in writing

A message or consultation does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Further work begins after scope, terms and conflicts are confirmed.
